Description

This is the Dark Shark nebula acquired remotely using the Skygems Network Dream Astrograph 16" f3.7 telescope in New Mexico USA.

Up until now, all of my images have been captured using my own equipment either from my backyard or with my travel rig.  I really enjoy the dual technical challenge of acquiring the the data and then processing that data.  However, summer weather conditions at my home base in South Florida pretty much shut me down between May and October with very few opportunities to image.  So in order to continue the progression of my processing skills, I will be imaging remotely for the summer.

The Dark Shark Nebula is a part of a large molecular cloud in the constellation Cepheus.  Within LDN 1235 there are two blue reflection nebulae, vdB149 and vdB150, that are illuminated by nearby spectral type B8IV stars.
